Monrovia, Frederick County Kitchen Project

The family wanted to expand for their large family with five grown kids coming home on holidays flow was important. We took out two walls and pocketed the beams flush in the ceiling to allow the room to appear as one large room. We used a raised traditional door painted with a brushed glaze on the perimeter and a black painted with an undertone stained door which is rubbed through to show the brown undertone color. We used two islands to allow for 2 separate prep zones for large family gatherings. One island has an additional sink for prep and clean up while the larger island has an additional cooktop for busy holiday cooking. We also add an end grain butchers block top nine inches thick centrally located for all the chopping needs. This kitchen will provide wonder meals for the growing family for years to come.
